Director of Communication
Annie joined the St. John’s staff in May 2016. With a background in filmmaking, journalism, and design, Annie was thrilled for the opportunity to combine her creative skillset with her passion for service and justice as the Director of Communication at SJUMC.
Annie moved to Memphis in August 2013 to pursue her Masters of Arts in Communication – Film & Video Production. She concentrated primarily on documentary filmmaking and taught undergraduate film courses as part of her graduate assistantship. She is the 2015 recipient of the John Angus Campbell Student Teaching Award. Her experience includes documentaries, narrative shorts, music videos, promotional videos, and public service announcements. Her work has been shown in museum exhibitions, academic conferences, and both local and international film festivals. Annie is 2013 graduate of Young Harris College, located in the North Georgia Mountains, where she majored in Communication Studies and minored in Religious Studies. She received the 2012 Communication Service Award for her work with The Enotah Echoes, the official campus newspaper of YHC.
Annie was raised in Metro Atlanta and the Shenandoah Valley. In her spare time, she can be found working on outside film projects, cheering on her beloved Atlanta Braves, or listening to live music. She is currently working on her Master of Social Work at The University of Memphis, a path that is a direct result from her time at St. John's.
