Chancel Choir

We believe everyone has a voice. Our Chancel Choir, under the leadership of Johnny Peoples, is 40+ members strong. From teenagers to seasoned singers. From professional musicians to those who only sing in the shower. We are open to everyone just as our church is open to everyone. St. John's Chancel Choir has produced two CDs, “Servants of Peace, and "Song of Community.” The Chancel Choir has been invited in the past to sing for Bishop Dick Wills installation service, as well as Annual Conferences, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Cannon Center, and additional public appearances in Memphis. If you love to sing and enjoy choral music this is the place for you! 
The Chancel Choir meets for rehearsals on Sundays immediately after worship for 1 hour. They sing every Sunday, in addition to evening programs and additional Worship services during Advent and Holy Week. No audition is required!

Children's Choir
Sarah Harr, Director 
One of the strongest expressions of our ministry is the Children’s Choir of St. John’s. Led by Sarah Harr, who is completing her doctoral degree in music, they are in wonderful hands. The Children’s Choir is made up of children ages 2-12 yrs. They sing all types of music, as well as learn to play percussion instruments. We model for them the importance of participating in worship. They are also a wonderful sign of life for our congregation and our community. We are so very proud of our ministry to children, as well as their ministry to us!
The Children’s Choir practices on Wednesday evenings @ 6:30pm. They sing during Worship at least once a month and have two special programs a year, including a Children's Christmas Program.
